Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts has issued an order to prevent tenants from being evicted from their homes during the COVID-19 pandemic. But one Lancaster County judge is evicting people anyway.

Judge Thomas Zimmerman

is kicking Lincoln residents into the streets.

This threatens Nebraskans' public health and safety.

Zimmerman has the power to stop or delay eviction hearings, yet continues to hold them on schedule, creating a vulnerable scenario for low-income tenants who can't afford legal representation.

While COVID rages around us, Judge Zimmerman renders Nebraskans homeless and exposed. We call on Judge Zimmerman and Governor Rickets to halt ALL evictions immediately, including evictions due to nonpayment before March 13, 2020, which currently fall outside of the state-wide eviction moratorium.

Call any of these landlords or attorneys to express your disappointment that they are evicting Nebraskans at this time. Or call Judge Zimmerman's office at 402-441-7655

Zimmerman's elected term ends in 2024. Unseating a judge is difficult, but we have years to prepare.
